The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have taken themselves to the country for a day of royal duties.

William and Catherine embarked on a sustainable farm tour in County Durham, before spending time with charity the Cheesy Waffles Project.

The royal pair visited a farm in Darlington to see the techniques used to work towards the UK’s 2050 net-zero greenhouse emissions target.

Kate and William also received golf lessons with the help of the Cheesy Waffles Project, a charity providing people with additional needs aged seven to 35 with skills to allow them independence in adulthood.

The project receives support from youth charity The Key, which works with organisations to empower young people across the North East of England.

The Key was one of 26 charities chosen by William and Kate in 2011 to benefit from donations made to their Royal Wedding Charitable Gift Fund.

The couple’s tour comes ahead of their wedding anniversary on Thursday, which marks 10 years since they married at Westminster Abbey.
